A Delhi court has sentenced a man to seven years imprisonment for raping a minor girl two years ago.

Additional Sessions Judge SP Garg also imposed fine of Rs 2000 on the the convict Rajesh Kumar Tiwari finding him guilty of committing rape on the girl who used to beg for livelihood.

According to the prosecution, On April 2, 2004, the victim who used to live with her sister in the Hanuman Mandir of the central Delhi area, was returning from a hotel after collecting left-over food at 10.30 pm in the night.

The convict who used to sell cassettes in the area stopped them and slapped her sister. Later he took her to a park behind the temple and raped her.
