A man was hacked to death inside the compartment of a local train today when it was entering Bazarshaw station on Eastern Railway.

The police said 36-year-old Khokhan Ghosh died inside the compartment of Katwa-Azimganj local train after two miscreants hacked him with sharp weapons inside the train.

The miscreants fled as the train slowed down before entering the station, police said.

Ghosh, a farmer, is a resident of Salar in Murshidabad district and was going to Behrampur.

Police suspect the family feud behind the killing.
