The encounter between the police and naxalites lasted for about six hours, but there were no reports of casualties or injuries to anyone from either side, said Superintendent of Police Vivek Raj Singh.
The police busted the training camp, including two bunkers, during the operation against the ultras, Singh said, adding two petrol bombs, explosives and naxal literature, cooked food and utensils were also recovered from the spot.
Six suspected naxalites have been detained for questioning, the SP said.
Earlier this morning, the police had launched a massive combing operation against the naxalites hiding in Panchrukhia area and an encounter ensued between them after the ultras opened fire on the police, Singh said.
