He was delivering a lecture on ‘Exploring Avenues for Positivising the University Administration’ on the concluding day of five-day national workshop on `Management of University Administration’ at Bharat Kala Bhawan in the Banaras Hindu University here on Friday. BHU in collaboration with Association of Indian Universities had organised the workshop.
“It has always cared for the stockholders of colonial and bureaucratic administrative formulae outside the country and the result is continuous dehumanisation of the administrative ethos in management of the Indian universities,” he said.
Dr SP Mathur dwelt upon ‘Resource Mobilisation’ and concluded that autonomy and financial self-dependence were inter-related. Dr B Gambhir presented a paper on ‘Academic Staff College and Training on Educational Administrators’. He said the university administrators should undergo continuous orientation, training and re-orientation.
Ex V-C of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay University Prof BM Shukla was the chief guest of the valedictory session. Prof Shukla and Prof Prabhakar Jha, Prof Anand Krishna, Prof Annapurna Shukla expressed their desire that universities should regain their lost glory and remodel themselves on the pattern of Nalanda and Taxila.
