Terrorists on Sunday hurled a grenade at a PDP election rally minutes after party chief Mehbooba Mufti left the venue, killing one person and injuring thirty in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack took place in Khool-Noorabad shortly after Mehbooba, who is contesting from Anantnag parliamentary seat, left the venue and the crowd was dispersing, inspector general of police K Ranjendra said.
Ten people, including a television cameraman and his driver, were injured in the blast, he said. One later succumbed to injuries.
The grenade exploded near the podium underneath the vehicle of the TV channel. All injured were admitted to hospitals.
