Kafeel Ahmed’s mother, Dr Zakia Ahmed, has identified her son as the Glasgow bomber, said a senior member of the police team investigating the failed UK attacks, reports Abhishek Sharan.

“He is my son,” the officer quoted the mother as saying when shown TV images of the burning jeep at Glasgow airport. Dr Zakia and Kafeel’s sister Sadia had been taken to an undisclosed spot for extensive questioning by the police. It was during the questioning that she made this disclosure. The officer revealed that Dr Zakia also told him she had a “hunch” Kafeel had “gone astray”. The officer said: “She had a mother’s intuition that Kafeel was up to something wrong.”
