Amidst uproarious scenes, Madhya Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for 55 minutes on Wednesday as members created ruckus over the issue of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Kishore Samrite allegedly being paid bribe of Rs 10 lakh to vote in favour of Congress backed independent candidate, Vivek Tankha in the coming Rajya Sabha polls.
As the House assembled for the Question Hour, it plunged into turmoil, with both Treasury and Opposition benches trading charges against each other on the issue.
While the treasury bench raised slogans "stop horse trading", Opposition countered them by shouting "Chor machaye shor".
As requests of Speaker Ishwardas Rohani to restore order remain unheeded, he adjourned the House for 55 minutes till 11 30 hrs.
Samrite in a press conference last night, claimed that Congress leader NP Prajapati has allegedly paid him Rs 10 lakh near MLA Rest House No.1 by calling him downstairs and went away requesting to vote in favour of Tankha in the biennial polls for three seats of Rajya Sabha in Madhya Pradesh.
