Musharraf pledges to develop Balochistan

The President said this while inaugurating a Rs 100-million gas supply project of Sui Southern Gas Company at Gwadar.

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has reiterated that he was all focussed for the overall development of Balochistan.

He said this while inaugurating the Rs 100-million gas supply project of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited at Gwadar on Wednesday.

"I have a dream for you and trust me that I will make all efforts to realise this dream of bringing prosperity and development to your province. We are striving to take the people forward and provide jobs. I ask you to also get education and skills to ensure that you can compete in the mainstream for jobs," the Daily Times quoted Musharraf as saying.

He said that his government would provide three billion rupees for development projects in 29 districts of Balochistan.

"It is now the duty of each nazim of every district to provide me with the details of development projects in their respective areas. The list of these projects will be in my office and I will personally monitor progress on these to ensure completion," he added.
