Seeking to set his political house in order in the face of opposition moves on the eve of Parliament's session, President Pervez Musharraf has ruled out changes at the top to thwart internal dissensions within the Pakistan Muslim League (Qaid).
Neither Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, nor beleaguered Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim is being changed, he said in Karachi while addressing partymen and lawmakers.
Dispelling all rumours regarding any political change, the president said neither Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz nor Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim would be changed and the same team would hold the 2007 elections, The News said.
Media has reported that Musharraf is also backing the PML (Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in the face of dissensions within the party, asking the leadership to stand united in the face of opposition onslaught in and outside Parliament.
