The Kerala government should order a CBI probe into the "murders' in Kannur district, to bring the people behind such activities befor the law, Nationalist Congress party Kerala president, K Muraleedharan said on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters in Kochi, Muraleedharan blamed both the CPI(M) and the BJP for the recent happenings in Thalassery of Kannur district. The state government should also convene an all-party meeting to bring lasting peace in the area, he said.
Demanding sacking of the DGP immediately, Muraleedharan flayed the statement of the DGP who had reportedly said that the murders were taking place in remote villages and police had no facility to know the happenings.
Criticising the opposition, he said the boycott of the assembly proceedings were not correct when important discussions were slated.
Muraleedharan also condemned the attack on the central office of Cpi(m) at Delhi by BJP activists.
He said the NCP state conference will be held at Thrissur on April 26.
NCP national leaders, including its president Sharad Pawar, PA Sangma and Praful Patel will participate in the state NCP representatives meeting scheduled on April 27, he added.
