The residents have also written an open letter to the developer and sent copies to the office of the Haryana chief minister, Union environment minister Jairam Ramesh, and the chief secretary, senior town planner and divisional commissioner of Gurgaon.

The letter lists various pending demands of residents, including a community centre, RWA office and eight bus shelters inside the complex. “We have generators which do not have an automatic on/off switch. This increases our consumption and results in inflated bills. We have dedicated water supply allocated by the municipal corporation but our pipeline is built lower than the government line, due to which we do not get proper supply," Sanu Kapila, secretary, Nirvana RWA.

“We pay R31 per power unit plus maintenance charges but do not get any services. Initially, 200 security guards were deployed but the number has decreased to 47,” said Varun Ahuja, a resident.

Many cases of break-ins and eve teasing have also been reported due to an incomplete boundary wall. “We have called a dharna on May 5 at Unitech House, Signature Towers,” said Kapila further added.

A senior Unitech official, meanwhile said, “Our expenditure is R4 to R6 per square yard. We have been charging residents less than half the cost for the last nine years and incur financial losses every time.”
