NRI robbed of Rs 46 lakh
The Aarey police officials registered a case of housebreaking worth over Rs 46 lakh at a flat belonging to an NRI. The police suspect it to be the work of his driver, who has been missing since the last two days, reports Shahkar Abidi.
The Aarey police officials on Tuesday registered a case of housebreaking worth over Rs 46 lakh at a flat belonging to an NRI. The police suspect it to be the work of his driver, who has been missing since the last two days.
The police said the incident happened on Monday evening on the 6th floor of a building inside Royal Palm vicinity in Goregaon (East). Binoy Raza, the complainant said that he had gone to a gym when the burglary happened.
The police during initial investigation have learnt that the accused must have come from the terrace. They later broke the bathroom windowpane, which was without any grill. Cash and jewellery worth over Rs 46 lakh was found missing, Raza said in his police statement. The police have launched a manhunt to trace Raza’s driver.
“We are working on certain clues,” said Senior Inspector A. Tonpe of Aarey police station. Raza said, “I am already tense because of the burglary.” He refused to say anything further.
