NSUI wants council to tackle Arunachal's law & order problems

The NSUI has demanded that a state security council should be set up to help the administration in tackling law and order problems.

Arunachal Pradesh unit of National Students' Union of India (NSUI) on Tuesday demanded that a state 'security council' should be constituted to help the administration in tackling day-to-day law and order problems.

Addressing a press conference in Itanagar, its president HS Yangfo said that the state council should include representatives of people of all walks of life including students and businessmen.

Referring to boundary disputes of Assam with all the neighbouring states including Arunachal Pradesh, he said it should be solved immediately for peace in Northeast since Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are having Congress governments.

Both states should take up the issue, he said and expressed hope that such talks can bring about some good results.

Yangfo welcomed the proposed peace talks between the Centre and the leaders of NSCN (I-M), but said people of Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh do not like to join the "Greater Nagalim".

He demanded that the Centre and state government should take steps for setting up of industries in Arunachal Pradesh and creation of Arunachal regiment of paramilitary forces to solve unemployment problem among the youths.
