'Oh, I'm heartbroken': How Twitterati reacted to Maggi recall buzz
The news that Nestle's Maggi noodles would be recalled from shops across the country spread like wildfire. Food inspectors in Uttar Pradesh found dangerously high levels of lead in a particular batch of the popular brand.
The news that Nestle's Maggi noodles from shops across the country spread like wildfire, sparking quite a few funny reactions on Twitter.
The Twitterati responded immediatley to the Maggi recall buzz after food inspectors in Uttar Pradesh found dangerously high levels of lead in a particular batch of the popular brand.
Although food inspectors later denied recalling the brand and Nestle refuting charges of high content of lead and MSG in its product, the damage was done.
Social media was flooded with people expressing emotions from disappointment to shock at the news.
Some however, found a silver lining after the revelation.
This is not the first time that a brand has been under the lens of the country's food inspectors. And many like twitter user @neha_1911 believe that this issue too will be forgotten soon.
Then there are those who believe that the brand was never good for health to begin with.
Despite the seriousness of the issue - at one time Maggi controlled almost 90% of the market share under the instant noodles category - some found humour in the whole turn of events.
