The residents have sent a proposal to chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda along with a suggested Metro route map. According to the proposed map, a new Metro line should link Dwarka Sector 21 to Bijwasan, Palam Vihar, Gurgaon Sector 5, Atul Kataria Chowk and Iffco Chowk.

Though the DMRC has already prepared a route for its new high-speed Metro link from Palam Vihar to Maruti and Iffco Chowk but that route has been rejected by the Old Gurgaon residents. Meanwhile, the DMRC officials on Friday held a meeting with state government officials, including Huda administrator Praveen Kumar and senior town planner RK Singh, to discuss the detailed project report of DMRC.

On Sunday, a group of Old Gurgaon residents held a meeting and expressed concern over the state government's "apathy towards a big population". They asked the government to put pressure on the DMRC to extend metro facility from their areas to expressway.

"Old city residents are completely deprived of metro service," said Dharamsagar, chairman of the Federation of Residents' Welfare Association (FORWA).

He said the chief minister has assured that their demands will be considered.
