Pakistan trainer goes on 'protest'
As Pakistan went into the series-deciding third Test, the home side received a jolt as team doctor-cum-trainer Tauseef Razzaq went on medical leave.
As Pakistan went into the series-deciding third Test, the home side received a jolt as team doctor-cum-trainer Tauseef Razzaq went on medical leave, but sources say the real reason was his differences with captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and coach Javed Miandad.
Razzaq was absent at the team's practice session at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Monday, which meant that the responsibilities of team doctor Riaz Ahmed have doubled.
"Yes, my responsibilities have increased after he went on leave," Riaz told IANS.
The differences between Tauseef and the team management cropped up over the use of fast bowlers at net sessions.
While Tauseef wanted the fast bowlers to bowl less at nets so that they could remain fresh for Test matches, Inzamam and Miandad did not want any preferential treatment for any speedster.
