PM wary of Advani's yatra
Both Advani and BJP President Rajnath Singh are set to embark on a twin yatra from Gujarat and Orissa on April 6.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday feared that the proposed yatra by senior BJP leader LK Advani might create "unnecessary tension" in the country.
"Law and order machinery, which is a state subject, will cope up with it. I sincerely believe that this type of yatra sometimes create unnecessary tension in our country," he told reporters.
This happened after the investiture ceremony in which eminent people were conferred with country's prestigious Padma awards.
He said all concerned should work to maintain peace and harmony in the country.
Asked whether the timing of yatra was right, the Prime Minister expressed hope that "nothing will be done to disturb communal harmony and communal ethos" and all efforts should be made to achieve this common obligation.
