Rain stopped play midway through the first Twenty20 international between India and Australia on Wednesday.

David Hussey (17) and Matthew Wade (70) were at the crease with Australia at 131 for two when heavens opened up in the 15th over in Sydney.

Earlier, MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field in the Twenty20 international against Australia at the Sydney Olympic stadium.

India are coming off a 4-0 Test series drubbing and are looking to turn a new page in the shorter version of the game.

Australia and India have two wins each in their four T20 international games.
