Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar underwent a successful surgery on his right shoulder at a hospital in London on Monday.
The operation, conducted by Dr Andrew Wallace at Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, lasted for nearly for an hour.
"The surgery proceeded successfully without any complications. At the time of the operation, we found clear evidence of instability associated with a tear of the rim of the socket of the shoulder joint. The tear extended through 75 per cent of the biceps tendon and had created a large cyst that was impinging on a nearby nerve," Dr Wallace said in a statement.
"...The damaged biceps tendon was divided and reattached to the shaft of the humerus (upper arm bone)," he said.
He said 32-year-old Tendulkar would spend the night today in the hospital and is likely to be discharged on Tuesday.
