JAN ADHIKAR Sangharsh Samiti has criticized the decision of the Uma Bharti government to restart the sale of liquor, meat and eggs at holy places such as Ujjain, Omkareshwar and Maheshwar. Samiti president Rohitash Sharma in a press release stated that roll back on the earlier popular stand of complete ban on liquor, meat and eggs at these places showed the true colours of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the State.
Sharma said that this decision of the government was not in line with its earlier stand on ‘Hindutva’ and this was being done to garner the support of the Muslim community in the parliamentary elections. Sharma further added that this deviation from the long principled stand of the BJP would not go down well with the majority community and that it showed that the BJP was having a short-term view.
