Supreme Court issues notice to Goa government on a petition challenging the order of the Assembly Speaker restraining three MLAs from voting in the house during the recent floor test.
The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Goa government on petitions challenging the order of the state Assembly Speaker restraining three opposition MLAs from voting in the House during the Motion of Confidence moved by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat.
A bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan decided to hear the matter on August 13.

Sudin Dhavalikar and Dipak Dhavilkar, both Maharashtravadi Gomantak Party, and dissident Congress legislator Victoria Fernandes were restrained from casting their votes by Speaker Pratapsingh Rane.
