Yogesh R Patil, the Shiv Sena legislator from the powerloom town of Bhiwandi, and his parents were attacked outside their residence by rival political activists.
Yogesh R Patil, the Shiv Sena legislator from the powerloom town of Bhiwandi, and his parents were attacked outside their residence by rival political activists.
The activists attacked Yogesh, his father Ramesh and mother Kamalabai with knives in Kalergaon village around 7 a.m., wounding them grievously, Bhiwandi police constable R.B. Sathe said.

The motive behind the attack is believed to be old political rivalry. The police have managed to arrest one of the attackers, Kapil Patil, while they were on the lookout for another assailant, Santosh Patil.
The legislator and his parents were rushed to the Thane Civil Hospital and their condition was stated to be stable.
