West Indies were on 16 for no wicket from 4.5 overs.

The 29-year-old Shoaib had pain-killing injections for back and hamstring injuries last week.

The "Rawalpindi Express" has been heavily criticised by Australian media, Australia paceman Glenn McGrath and Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer for the extravagant length of his run-up.

Shoaib did not bowl in Australia's second innings of the third Test in Sydney earlier this month because of hamstring trouble.

Hosts Australia have beaten Pakistan and West Indies in the opening two matches of the triangular limited-overs tournament, which finishes with a best-of-three finals series starting on February 4.
