SIMI case transferred to district court

In 2001, Kotwali police had lodged a case against SIMI national president and 11 others after a seminar.
The sedition case against Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) national president Shahid Badr Falahi and 11 others, which the Uttar Pradesh government wishes to withdraw, was on Monday transferred to district and sessions court for hearing.
Submitting the UP Government Order (GO) withdrawing the case in the Fast Track Court (I) of judge GC Pandey, standing counsel Anwar Ahmad Khan had prayed that hearing in the case be dismissed.

Now, the next date of hearing will be fixed by the district and sessions court.
