Police in Jalandhar book three sons of a schoolteacher, including two NRIs based in Germany, for allegedly getting their father murdered.
Police in Jalandhar have booked three sons of a schoolteacher, including two NRIs based in Germany, for allegedly getting their father murdered as he reportedly planned to remarry against their wishes.
Karnail Singh was shot dead on May 16 when he was returning back to home from school by two unidentified motorcycle-borne youth, police said.
During investigation, it came to light that the victim Karnail, posted as teacher at Saidpur Jhirri village primary school, was planning to re-marry as his first wife Swaran Kaur died nearly 18 months back.
However, his sons Rajwinder Singh, and his two Germany based brothers Sumandeep and Amandeep were against the proposal, police said.
On suspicion Rajwinder was arrested and police claimed that during interrogation he admitted that he along with his two brothers had given a contract of Rs four lakh for killing of his father.
Police claimed the killers had earlier also made an attempt on the life of Karnail. They had tried to get him killed in an accident on May 8, but he survived, they said.
The police have booked both the NRI brothers Sumandeep and Amandeep.
