Mumbai police spokesperson Satyanarayan Chaudhary said, “We are considering issuing an LOC against around four to five bookies who are currently on the run and could leave the country. Also, in case they have fled the country, it would help arrest them as soon as they try to enter the country.” Chaudhary however refused to give the names of the bookies.

The police have already issue an LOC against bookies Pawan and Sanjay Jaipur, who fled the country soon after the crime branch made the first few arrests in the betting racket.

Sources from the crime branch said that the bookies suspected to be holed up in foreign countries include Kishore Baglani alias Kishore Pune, Chandresh Shah alias Jupiter. An LOC will ensure that as soon as the person tried to flee or enter the country, the immigration authorities alert the police. An LOC has to contain details about the person including his physical appearance and the offence against him.

One major problem is finding the real names of some of the bookies who are known only by their aliases. “We are trying to find out the real names. This is something that is taking some time,” Chaudhary said.

The crime branch officials are also awaiting the custody of Tinku Delhi, currently at Tihar jail. The crime branch may or may not ask for Sreesanth’s custody, an official said.

CSK link proved?
In searches at Gurunath’s house and CSK’s office at Coromondel Towers, city cops claimed to have found documents that establish his association with the team as its principal. The find includes a diary with handwritten names of 14 players, from CSK and other teams, 365 envelope covers of CSK (letterhead and logo) and 190 visiting cards with Gurunath’s title as CSK team principal. 13 pages of 2010’s player’s auction list were also found. htc
