With reference to the editorial Sarabjit must live (March 18), the fate of Sarabjit Singh has been sealed mostly because of irresponsible media reporting. A series of stories appeared in this newspaper about persons engaged by intelligence agencies for espionage, while it is well-known that no intelligence agency will accept or deny such ‘accusations’. There should be some restrictions on what papers print, especially when related to issues sensitive to national interest.

Nuke the deal
Ashok Parthasarathi in The 123 does not add up (March 18) deserves praise for his views. Once the agreement is implemented, nuclear development in India will be at the mercy of the US. The issue is so vital for the country that it should be debated in Parliament. It should not be left to an executive decision of the cabinet.
