Tara speaks her mind
With three movies in hand, Tara Sharma of Saaya fame has a busy dates schedule ahead, including E. Niwas' Bardaasht.
Even though Tara Sharma was content with her role in Saaya opposite Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham, she knew it all along that it was a small one. “I think all this talk about John stealing the limelight from me is hogwash, that’s not how things were. Saaya was all about a man traumatised by the loss of his wife. And I’m the kind who likes to climb the ladder gradually,” she says.
Tara dispels all media reports of a reported affair with her co-star in Saaya. "John and I are friends and he is a great person to be with. That’s the end of the story," she declares.
With three films in hand, the London School of Economics graduate has a busy schedule. E Niwas’s Bardaast, where she plays a totally unglamorous role, is an exciting departure from her usual song and dance routine and a step forward from being just a pretty face.
“I also have Mumbai Sapno Ka Shahar, that’s a typical boy-meets-girl love story. Then there’s Vikram Bhatt’s Zaroorat where I team up with Mahesh Bhatt’s nephew Farhan, who made his debut in Footpath,” she elaborates.
Khosla Ka Ghosla with Ranvir Shorey and Parvin Dabas, is also slated for release soon. "I’m not a girl in a hurry, I like to take each step at a time. In the long run, not being pushy enough may be a disadvantage but right now I’d prefer it this way,” says Sharma.
