He was addressing the inaugural function of fifth Refresher Course in Agricultural Science at UGC Academic Staff College in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here on Saturday.
Prof Agrawal highlighted the role of teachers as quality resource person and added that the responsibility of a desired social change rests upon the shoulders of the teaching community.
Presiding over the inaugural function, BHU rector, Prof S Lele said that besides evaluation of teachers there should be a proper mechanism to evaluate the system.
He emphasised on the use of Internet and computer in modern education.
Dean of Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Prof Janardan Singh, briefed the audience about the institute. Academic Staff College Director, Prof Kumar Pankaj delivered the welcome address.
Course coordinator, Prof JP Srivastava dwelt upon various aspects of refresher course whereas another course coordinator, Prof KP Singh proposed the formal vote of thanks.
As many as 34 teachers of various colleges and universities from West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh etc., were participating in this refresher course.
