The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad had yesterday arrested two persons in connection with the blast at Thane Gadkari Rangayatan on June 4 before the beginning of the satirical play "Amhi Pachpute" which injured seven persons.
The ATS had said that the same group was involved in planting of explosives at a theatre in Vashi on May 31, where the same play was staged and the blast in a theatre in Panvel showing the film "Jodhaa Akbar" on February 20.
Vikram Bhave, 26, and Santosh Angre, 26, both active workers of the Sanatan Sanstha, were arrested today and showed as accused in the Panvel blast case.
The bombs used at Vashi and Panvel were assembled at Bhave's home the Pen town situated near Panvel while Angre, a native of the Lanja town in coastal Ratnagiri district was arrested as he knew of the entire plot.
"Both of them used to stay in the Ashram where those arrested yesterday resided. We have got some clinching leads in the case which includes documentary evidence while we are in the process of collecting material evidence," ATS chief Hemant Karkare said.
He, however, said that the ATS has not been able to establish the role of the organisation in the three incidents.
