Three killed in gas cylinder explosion in Assam
Three persons of a family were burnt to death and another severely injured while six houses gutted following a gas cylinder explosion in Assam's Sonitpur district on Sunday, police said.
Three persons of a family were burnt to death and another severely injured while six houses gutted following a gas cylinder explosion in Assam's Sonitpur district on Sunday, police said.
The gas cylinder exploded on Sunday afternoon at Darwanpatty area in Tezpur town killing a woman, a 15-month-old girl child and a youth while the owner of the house, Ashutosh Ghosh, was severely burnt.
Ghosh's wife Archana Ghosh, daughter and another relative Bapon Ghosh died in the fire while he was admitted to Kanaklata Civil Hospital.
Six houses were also gutted in the fire and the total loss was estimated to be around Rs 20 lakh.
Three fire engines were pushed into service which took more than two hours to extinguish the fire.
