TN telemedicine firm ties up with Israeli company
The technology enables patients to be monitored anywhere and at any time through pocket personal computers.
City-based Heartline Telemedical Services has entered into an exchange agreement with an Israeli company to introduce its wireless telemedicine technology in India.
The technology enabled patients to be monitored anywhere and at any time through pocket personal computers, mobile and basic telephones, Heartline Managing Director Dr Selva Annamalai told reporters recently.
It also provides patients accessibility to a doctor, 24 hours a day from anywhere, who could monitor them through computers and offer medical advice through computer or phone, he said.
The monitoring of ECG, BP, pulse, glucose and saturation could be monitored with the use of the technology, even when the patient is on travel.
But the patients had to take on lease or purchase mobile ECG, BP and sugar level measuring machines, which he said was affordable. These equipments were available in small portable cases.
The results would be transmitted through telephone or satellite from any part of the world to the base computer in the hospital and the doctors would report back to the patients on the steps to be taken immediately in case of an emergency, he said.
