1 You will earn more respect from the other party if you listen to them.

2 Look at the person who is talking to you and make good eye contact.

3 Your expressions should show that you are interested in what the other person is saying and are actively listening to him or her.

4 Don’t use listening time for planning your answers. Make notes and take your time before responding.

5 Ask questions, this helps to clear doubts and also increases your rapport with the other party.

6 Lean forward and talk to the person — this helps to receive more support from the person. n
