Truck hits bike in Noida, kills student
A student of Amity University was killed and another injured in an accident on Monday near HCL in Sector 3. HT reports.
A student of Amity University was killed and another injured in an accident around 1 am. on Monday near HCL in Sector 3. The injured student is still critical at a local private hospital.
Ankur Chawla and Puneet Relhan were on their way back from Naya Bans after having dinner when a truck coming from the opposite direction collided head on with their motorcycle. The truck driver fled leaving behind the truck.
Police said the news of accident spread soon and residents gathered at the accident spot and pelted stone at the dumper.
“Ankur’s father Rakesh Chawla is a veterinary doctor at Karnal. His grand father was the former Vice-Chancellor of Kurushetra University. Ankur had last talked to his father a few hours before the accident,” a police officer said.
Amity University spokesperson Savita Mehta said, “Ankur Chawla was a B Tech student, while Puneet was pursuing an MBA degree. Both were living as paying guests outside the campus in some sector. Ankur is from Jind near Kurushetra, while Puneet is from Panchkula.”
VB Joshi, Kailash Hospital spokesman, said, “Puneet was admitted at 1.53 am. He has head injury, rib fractures and nasal bleeding. He was admitted in ICU and his condition is still critical.”
