Turnout revised upwards to 62%
The Election Commission on Thursday revised the polling percentage for the sixth phase of the assembly election from 60% to 62%.

The penultimate round of polling was held in 68 constituencies on February 28.
“After collecting updated data from the district election officers, the polling percentage was revised,” joint chief electoral officer Anita C Meshram said here. Saharanpur recorded the highest turnout among the districts at 70.89%. Nakur (in Saharanpur) polled the most votes among the assembly segments at 76.7%.
After the sixth phase, the average turnout across all the rounds held so far is 58.73%. With a polling percentage of 59.85%, the women have surpassed the men (57.82%) overall. But men fared better in the sixth phase. Their turnout was 62.97% against 60.78% for women.
Meshram also said, “64.73% votes were polled in Pancsheel Nagar district, 64.62% in Mathura, 61% in Agra, 62.38% in Aligarh, 57.94% in Baghpat, 61.33% in Bulandshahr, 55.36% in Gautam Buddha Nagar, 56.7% in Ghaziabad, 61.32 % in Mahamaya Nagar, 64.24% in Meerut, 59.54 % in Muzaffarnagar and 62.82% in Prabudhnagar district”.
“Repolling has been ordered at a booth in Modinagar (Ghaziabad) assembly segment and a booth in Rasra (Ballia) on March 3.”
