The Supreme Court had recently vacated its stay on the trial of Mumbai blasts of 2003.

In all, 49 witnesses have been examined and 30 more would depose before the court, according to special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.

A blast in a bus at Ghatkopar had killed more than ten people while injuring several others on July 28, 2003, while unexploded bomb was found in November 2003 at Andheri in Mumbai.

Two more blasts shattered the city on August 25, 2003 at Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar killing more than 50 people and injuring several others. The explosions occurred in taxis parked near the two places.

All the four cases have been combined together for trial.

Of the six accused, one has turned approver and his name has been kept in camera by the court on prosecution's plea. the other five are facing trial. They are Mohammed Hanif, his wife Fahmida, Hasan Batterywala, Rizwan Ladduwala and Ashtrat Ansari.

Of them, Mohammed Hanif and his wife had travelled in a taxi to Gateway of India with RDX loaded in a bag kept in the boot of the vehicle. Batterywala and Ladduwala had allegedly supplied ammunition to the accused while Ashrat was involved in the conspiracy.
