Two top terrorists killed in J&K encounter
Two Pakistani nationals belonging to Hizb-e-Islami, were shot dead in remote mountainous forest of Rajouri district.
Two top separatist terrorists, identified as Pakistani nationals belonging to Hizb-e-Islami, were shot dead in remote mountainous forest of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, an army spokesman said.
Based on a tip-off, the army troops laid a cordon in mountainous forest of Darhal area, about 180 km northwest of Jammu, the army spokesperson, Col DK Badola said.
The contact between hiding terrorists and troops was established by Tuesday afternoon, leading to a gun battle, according to the spokesman.
One of the terrorist was identified as Ansari, a "district commander" of the outfit who was involved in various killings and acts of violence including the killing of five Hindus in Dara Sakri village in Rajouri district in July 2005.
Arms and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists while the troops were still combing the area.
