A police spokesperson said paramilitary troopers of the Assam Rifles killed the two rebels of the outlawed All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) during a raid at one of their hideouts near Khowai, about 65 kms north of Agartala.

"The Assam Rifles troopers launched a combing operation in the area based on specific information," police official Nepal Das said.
Security forces recovered arms and ammunition from the dead rebels.
