UK reprieve for Sikh schoolgirl

, has been allowed to attend another school pending a court ruling.

The previous school management claimed the kada violated the dress code.

The issue was taken up by Inderjit Singh, who heads the Network of Sikh Organisations, an umbrella body of over 100 Sikh associations and groups, and was also supported by the human rights group Liberty, headed by Shami Chakravarty.

Sarika’s appeal is currently awaiting hearing in the High Court in London, but she has been allowed to attend another school within the same Rhondda Cynon Taf Local Education Authority area.
