The meeting likely to seek the revival of Ramjanmabhumi, Hindutva and other emotive issues is being seen as a pre-election bid by the party to make a dent in the BJP's traditional votebank.

BJS leaders in Kanpur feel that the BJP has let down its voters by relegating these issues to the background.

"The sentiments of crores of Hindus are attached with Ramjanmabhumi but it is a pity that BJP has distanced itself from the issue", BJS's spokesperson in UP V K Nigam said.

In Wednesday's address, Bharti will call on people to unite against those doing politics in the name of 'Hindutva', Nigam said.
