Unmarried daughters to get pension
Haryana Government decides to grant family pension to unmarried daughters aged 25 and above, bringing them at par with the widow and divorced pensioners' daughters.
The Haryana Government will grant family pension to the eligible unmarried daughters of the pensioners beyond the age of 25 years.
Disclosing this in Chandigarh on Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that the decision to amend the Family Pension Scheme, 1964 had been taken keeping in view the long pending demand of Haryana Civil Pensioners Welfare Association, Karnal and Pensioners and Senior Citizen Welfare Association, Jagadhri to grant family pension to unmarried daughters at par with the widow and divorced daughters of pensioners on the pattern of Central Government.
Enumerating the deatils of the scheme, he said that it had been decided that unmarried daughters beyond the age of 25 years would also be eligible for family pension at par with the widow and divorced daughers.
The pension would be payable in order of their date of birth and younger one would not be eligible for family pension unless the next above her had become ineligible for grant of family pension.
He clarified that the family pension to unmarried, widow and divorced daughters above the age of 25 years would be payable only after the other eligible childern below the age of 25 years had ceased to be eligible to receive family pension and that there was no disabled child to receive such family pension. It had also been decided that as per the income parameters to become eligible for getting family pension, a widow or divorced daughter and son should not have monthly income more than Rs.2550, he added.
