In wake of the infiltration of absconding Naxals from neighboring states of Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh and Bihar, the security has been beefed up at the border area of Purvanchal.

The SP (Chandauli), Love Kumar has launched a combing operation with jawans of Police, PAC and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in affected forests of Chandauli district. Cops are keeping a close vigil on the movement of suspected persons on the border. Force has been deployed in the sensitive points and villages of hyper-sensitive Naughar area of Chandauli. He said, cops have been directed to be prepared for handling any emergency situation.

Besides, the police officials of Mirzapur and Sonebhadra are also engaged in massive combing in affected forests and villages of their respective districts so that absconding Naxals from Jharkannd may not sneak in to dense forests of Chandauli, Mirzapur and Sonebhadra. Night patrolling and cross combing has been begun.

Keeping in mind the call of Naxalite organisations for a 'Bharat Bandh' on October 30, the special alertness will be observed on the border and national highways passing through different states. The border of Bihar, Chhastisgarh and Jharkhand would be sealed on the day of bandh.

It may be noted that a gang of naxalites had killed 14 jawans of PAC in a landmine blast at Hinaut village of Naughar area in Chandauli district three and half years back. Besides, a member of Royal family of Sonebhadra state and a police inspector were shot dead in separate incidents by naxals in Sonebhadra five years back.
