Clarifying the issue, Vaiko said he had replied in Parliament during a debate on reservation and social justice, to the Congress leader, Vasanth Sathe that he (Rajiv) was able to speak on the issue in Delhi, but would not be allowed do so in Tamil Nadu.

Saying that this was narrated at a meeting in Arupukottai, a year before Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated, Vaiko alleged that Jayalalithaa had now twisted the fact and was making wild allegations against him.

On Jayalalithaa's reported statement at a public meeting at Sivakasi on Monday asking whether Sonia Gandhi, after becoming Prime Minister, will send Indian troops to capture LTTE leader, Prabhakaran and if so, will Vaiko and Ramdoss (PMK leader) welcome the decision, he said he was not willing to answer since this was aimed at creating confusion among the alliance partners.

On her remarks that MDMK's was a policy of extremism, Vaiko asked "can any one show any incident where MDMK cadres had indulged in violence. Ours is a disciplined party."
