Vetran RSS leader Santibhai Daru passes away in Ahmedabad
Vetran RSS leader Shantibhai Daru (83) died after prolonged illness at Dr Hegewar Bhavan in Kankaria area in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Vetran RSS leader Shantibhai Daru (83) died after prolonged illness at Dr Hegewar Bhavan in Kankaria area in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Born on July 7, 1926, in Sankheda village of Vadodara district, Daru became a Pracharak in 1946 with the then Jan Sangh.
After becoming a pracharak he travelled to Surat, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Kheda, and other districts of the state spreading the message of the Jan Sangh.
After 1955 he also held post as state president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). Due to age constraints he settled down in the city and gave honorary service at the VHP office.
Senior BJP leader LK Advani who was in the city and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi also expressed their condolences to the departed vetran RSS pracharak.
