Now an inquiry has been ordered as to why no robbery case was registered. The incident occurred on Friday. The complainant, Sandhya Pathak, 45, a resident of Misrod, works at a PWD office near Jawahar Chowk.

After alighting from the bus, she was walking towards her office when two unidentified youths riding a black motorcycle came from behind. One of them hit her in the head and the other snatched her bag containing some cash, cheques-books and other goods. The duo fled the spot in a jiffy.

The victim fell unconscious. Later, when she gained consciousness, Pathak reached the police station and lodged a complaint. Surprisingly, the case of loot was not registered and the policeman on duty registered a case under sections 323, 341 and 506 of the IPC.

Apparently, the section 392 (robbery) was not registered as it is deemed a heinous crime and the official wanted to hush the matter up. However, today senior officials came to know about the incident. Subsequently an inquiry has been ordered.
