In a second transfer within a span of few days, C R Chikkamath, Commissioner for Textiles and Director of Handlooms, was moved to the Labour Department as Secretary. Chikkmath, who was the Excise Commissioner till the last month, had been shunted out of the Excise department after the hooch tragedy that claimed more than 130 lives in the state.

Other postings include IM Vittala Murthy, who has been transferred as Secretary, Youth Services Department from Information and Tourism. Tara Ajai Singh, Principal Secretary to Food and Civil Supplies Department, will now be posted as Chairperson Karnataka Land Army.
