Congress, Jats in state welcome reservation

The state congress chief said it was a longstanding demand of the Jats and now the community from the Bharatpur and Dholpur region would be given reservation in OBC quota in central services.
The Congress leader said that the government decision was a pointer to the fact that the Congress is sensitive to the community and fulfills the demands of all sections of the society.
The Jat Mahasabha, the Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti and the Bharatpur Congress committee expressed happiness on giving reservation to Jats and thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for it.
Talking to media persons on Monday, they thanked former chief minister Ashok Gehlot for making way for the reservation by giving reservation to Jats of Bharatpur and Dholpur in the state services in 2000 and submitting factual reports to the Centre in the matter in 2010-11.
