RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat referred to recent reports of Hindus allegedly migrating from Kairana in Uttar Pradesh for fear of Muslim criminals.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Sunday that Hindus are unsafe in India, referring to recent reports of Hindus allegedly migrating from Kairana in Uttar Pradesh for fear of Muslim criminals.

“Neither in Bangladesh nor in Pakistan, Hindus in India are forced to migrate to safer havens from their homes,” Bhagwat said. RSS volunteers must work to stop this communal trend, he said.

Kairana BJP MP Hukum Singh said last week that Muslim gangs led by alleged ringleader Mukhim Kala drove 350 Hindu families out of Kairana by issuing extortion threats. An HT investigation, however, found that job opportunities and not Muslim threats have led the Hindu families move out of the town.

A five-member fact-finding committee of saints, which visited Kairana on Sunday, found the Bharatiya Janata Party’s claim of Hindu exodus from the area false.

Addressing RSS volunteers at a Hindu Samrajya Divas event in Jodhpur, Bhagwat said the saffron wing is following legendary Maratha ruler Shivaji’s efforts to unite Hindus in the wake of alleged Muslim aggression.

“Shivaji is a legendary personality to follow for the purpose of unity of Hindus. RSS volunteers need to think over what ideas to pursue and be trained in daily Shakhas that can strengthen and unite the Hindu community, making the country exploitation-free and prosperous,” said the RSS leader.
