While Singh was made the ADG (personnel), Pankaj Kumar Singh -- who returned from central deputation on Monday morning – was made the new ADG (crime).

Ajit Singh had drawn severe flak during his stint in the ACB after many accused in different cases were discharged by courts, the sources said.

The DIG in the anti-corruption bureau Anand Vardhan Shukla was also shifted and posted at the Rajasthan Police Academy.

Sanjay Agarwal, the IG in the chief minister’s vigilance and security wing, has been given additional charge of the vigilance cell in the anti-corruption bureau.

DIG (law and order) Gurucharan Rai was posted at PHQ-security,

Pankaj Kumar Singh, on the other hand, was the inspector general of police (IG) in Jaipur before he went on deputation to a central paramilitary force.

Four officers from state police, who recently got promoted to Indian Police Service have also been given charge of districts.

The sources said chief minister Vasundhara Raje had approved the names before she went on an official tour to Singapore recently but the government waited for the return of Pankaj Kumar Singh.

The decision also had to do with the impending declaration of schedule for municipal polls in the state when the model code of conduct would come into effect.
