On black money trail, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted raids at the premises of businessman Kashinath Taparia in the city and found 'something'.
"We raided the premises of Kashinath Taparia and his wife this morning and found something", Regional Director of ED B Mallick told PTI without specifying anything after concluding the raids.
Kashinath Taparia is the brother of late Priyamvada Birla and an alleged aide of Pune-based stud farm owner Hasan Ali who has been accused of massive money laundering and tax evasion.
Both Taparia and his wife were present at the time of the raids, he said.
When contacted Taparia confirmed having handed over some papers to the ED but said they were old documents which had already been sent to the directorate.
However, when asked about the content of the papers, he said, "Don't ask."
Denying any partnership with Hasan Ali, he said he was "nowhere near it".
The raids came close on the heels of the Supreme Court pulling up the government over the progress made in the investigations on Hasan Ali, main accused in the multi-billion dollar money laundering and tax evasion case..
Concurrently, the ED also raided the premises of Hasan Ali in Pune.
